A very exciting day! After a long anticipation period, the CNC kid finally arrived here in Sagres, Portugal.

The story of how I got my kit is quite an interesting one. I had been in contact with fellow 5.80 builder Frédéric Steppé for a while. He once visited me on a stopover in Sagres en route with his sailboat and we met for dinner. He mentioned that it was not the right time for him to build and that his kid was in Holland, already produced. He also offered a nice discount and I knew: This is it! I immediately bought it. The kit was produced by Kolibri Jachtbouw and was still at the factory. All I had to do was to get it picked up and brought to Portugal. Which I did! I hired an online company and a few days later the kit arrived at my house.

Many thanks to Pim from Kolibri Jachtbouw. I am very happy to have him on my side as he will help me with questions during the build which of course is very helpful.

Now it is real. How I will shape a pallet full of plywood and timber into a boat I really do not know but I guess I am about to find out!
